At Modern Medical Care we offer Ultrasound service. It is provided by our best sonographers and technicians with expertise in ultrasound technology. Ultrasound is a device that uses sound waves to study internal structures and tissue. Transducer, a hand-held device, is used to transmit and receive echo signals when places against the skin, with the help of a clear gel that is used during the procedure. Ultrasound scanning gives a clear picture of soft tissues that do not show up well on x-ray images. Conventional ultrasound images are used to help physicians to evaluate such symptoms as pain, swelling or infection, to examine body’s internal organs, like eyes, kidneys, liver, bladder, ovaries, pancreas, spleen, thyroid, uterus, blood vessels, diagnose a variety of heart conditions.
It is a hundred percent safe and painless procedure, with minimum discomfort. Preparation for the ultrasound depends on the type of examination.
For some scans doctor may instruct you not to eat or drink for as many as 12 hours before your appointment. For others you may be asked to drink up to six glasses of water two hours prior to your exam. Our staff will instruct you beforehand and guide you through the process in detail. After the ultrasound, you will be able to resume your every day routine and activities immediately.
